Jon and I met in January 1998 at Scott Community College. Although neither of us was looking for a long term relationship at the time, it only took 3 dates to know that there was forever in our future.

In February 2001, Jon and I both gave their lives to Jesus Christ when we were baptized at Bettendorf Christian Church. As we grew stronger in our faith and our own relationship, it became clear that it was God’s will for us to be married. So, on October 13, 2001 in front of all of our family and friends, Jon and I exchanged wedding vows and began our lives together as husband and wife.

As we grew in our walk with Christ, Jon had the opportunity to go on a short term mission trip with BCC to Ukraine in June 2004. While there he really felt a deep love and need to serve the people there.

Jon and I were blessed with the birth of our first little boy, Alexander David, in August 2004. Shortly after that, Jon told me what he felt God was laying on his heart. I told him that he must be mistaken! Slowly I began to feel the same thing, but we felt that God was closing the door when 17 months after our first little boy arrived, we grew by another "two feet"! Jonah Ryan joined the Gainer family on January 10, 2006.

After Jonah was a couple of months old, Jon and I both felt God calling us to Ukraine again. It was clear to us that this was God’s timing, and things just fell into place. We sold our house in 2 days! We found a new place to live in 3 hours! Jon got accepted to Lincoln Christian College and received a scholarship and we found a wonderful new church family at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church.

So, on July 2, 2006, with an almost 2 year old, and a 6 month old, Jon and I moved to Lincoln, Illinois so that Jon could get his degree. Because Jon was going to school full time, and I had 2 little boys to take care of, we decided to start up a web business called Campaignpros.com to pay the bills. Campaignpros.com sells personalized business and campaign materials, and with me answering phones, taking orders and taking care of the financials, and Jon doing graphic design between classes, our business was able to turn a profit in the first two months!

Of course, we had to restructure a little bit when we realized a month after moving, that baby #3 was on the way! Isaac John was born on February 25, 2007, 13 ½ months after Jonah. Although it has been a crazy ride so far, we are convinced that this is God’s will for our lives, and we are so excited to see what He has in store next! Jon will be finished with School in June 2009 and we will be heading for Language school imediatly. After two months of training we will be leaving for Kremenchug, Ukraine for a five year term.
