Ukraine

Ukraine is situated in the southeastern part of Central Europe and has its own government, flag and anthem. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe, and is roughly the size of Texas. Ukraine has a strong Christian heritage, but suffering under Ukraine Communism was severe. The vacuum left by Communism’s demise has often been filled with violent crime, breakdown in family structures, sexual immorality, and drug and alcohol abuse. In addition, there are still huge affects from Chernobyl. The consequent weakening of immune systems, combined with a rapidly spreading HIV/Aids virus are only adding to the problems of a shrinking population. Despite all of the problems Ukraine has, they are a wonderful people. They are warm, kind and hospitable, and they place a high value on relationships. The problem is, only 2.7% of them are experiencing the most important relationship of all, one with Jesus Christ.

fortress and had to be completely rebuilt after the damage caused by World War II. Kremenchug has a population of approximately 230,000 people. The large city is divided by the Dnepr River and abounds in parks and gardens as well as sandy beaches. Kremenchug is a large industrial city and one of the leading industrial centers of Ukraine. The city is a home to a truck manufacturing company, oil refinery, auto assembly plant, wagon plant, wheel plant, steel works, tobacco plant, confectionery, knitting factory, and milk and meat processing plants. Kremenchug is one of the most important railway junctions of Central Ukraine (thanks to its geographical position and a bridge over the Dnepr river), and a major river port on the main river of Ukraine.
